Blue Jays' Morrow leaves game against Washington

Toronto pitcher Brandon Morrow left in the first inning of Monday's game against the Washington Nationals after just nine pitches with a left oblique strain.

Morrow appeared to land awkwardly and immediately called for trainers in the dugout. He pointed to his left side, in the rib cage area, and after a very brief discussion on the mound Morrow exited.

He was replaced by Chad Beck.

Morrow had thrown his third shutout of the season in his last outing and was 7-3 with a 2.90 earned run average and 0.99 walks/hits per inning pitched in 12 starts coming into Monday's game.
